SCE is preparing to mobilize on a demolition and soil excavation project in Carteret, NJ. The Client is one of the largest pipeline transportation and energy storage companies in North America with more than 37,000 miles of pipelines and 170 terminals. They transport, store and handle energy products like natural gas, refined petroleum products, crude oil, ethanol, coal and carbon dioxide (CO2). SCE’s project at this 197 acre site consists of the demolition and decommissioning of a former repair and maintenance facility as well as the excavation and handling of 41,000 tons of soil. Work includes asbestos abatement, tank cleaning and removal, utility relocation, HAZMAT abatement, demolition and other decontamination efforts. Work is expected to begin in January 2010 and run through the 2nd Quarter of 2010.
