| Successful Implosion of Smokestack |

SCE Environmental Group’s (SCE) recently completed a successful implosion of a 230' high smokestack as part of a large-scale demolition project in Pittston, PA. This implosion took place at 8:53am October 29th, 2011 using ~30 lbs of explosives without incident. Its fall zone was within 10 inches of the projected area. The controlled implosion of the 25-year-old landmark was viewed by a few dozen spectators. Explosive charges were set and blasted the base of the stack. Then, after a moment's pause, it toppled toward the ground seemingly in slow motion before it hit with a thud. This implosion is part of a much larger demolition / decontamination project that SCE is completing at the former Techneglas Plant located about 15 miles south of Scranton, PA.
